Kwara State Government Destroyed Saraki Family House Called “Ile Arugbo”

The Kwara State government announced that it will demolish the popular family house of the Sarakis in the month of November 2019. The decision generated heated controversies between the fans of Sen. Bukola Saraki and Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.

The decision was reached after a panel by the Kwara State government recommended that the house be pulled down because it was acquired illegally. The said Property was earmarked for State Secretariat before it was unduly assigned to Saraki family house. The demolition was done over the night and the once celebrated house popularly known as “Ile Arugbo” now lies in great ruins.

The land will now be used for the construction of a secretariat by the State government, as the original plan for the said Property. Many aged women staged multiple protests and kept vigil at the house before it was finally demolished.

The state government plans to build a secretariat on the Property in this year 2020.
